The handbook provides an in-depth analysis of ten fundamental human rights, such as the right to life, right to fair and equal treatment, the right to liberty and security of person and others. The book highlights the origin of those rights and history of their evolution, it explains their meaning and presents an overview of liability for violations. The handbook uses interactive methods to meet the needs of primary (6-12 years) and secondary (13-18 years) school children. Special attention is paid to practical exercises designed to help children understand the nature of human rights in practice. The publication is aimed at teachers, professors, lawyers and all those interested in human rights seeking to raise awareness of human rights among children, and is not available in English.

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Office in Yerevan invited the European Students’ Union (ESU) to conduct an assessment of student democracy in Armenia on the occasion of a study visit in 2008. As a result of this study visit the ESU group developed a series of recommendations to promote the student democracy in Armenia. One of the recommendations in their report was to launch a student campaign against corruption in the higher education system, following successful experience in Romania and Albania.

Since schools life cannot go without conflict, these occurrences should not be ignored, instead, they should be addressed. Clashes never disappear, but with peer mediation they can be mitigated and often prevent their re-emergence. Regardless of whether it is a conflict happening in school or in a student’s family, neighbourhood, club, successful work team for mediation in school has an impact on extracurricular activities and private lives of students, but also their parents and teachers.
